Hi. This is Paul Sr. I wanted to share something interesting that happened as I did my chaplain rounds at Memorial West Hospital in Pembroke Pines, FL. today.

A patient whom I have been visiting over the past month told me that he recently had chemotherapy. And afterwards he said that he felt like Superman after he had been exposed to Green Kryptonite. Just about everyone growing up in the 1940s remembers the fictional character of Superman. What exactly is Green Kryptonite? Green Kryptonite rocks are the remains of the planet Krypton where Superman was born. What makes it so dangerous for Superman? Kryptonite is a radioactive substance harmful to Superman.

I had this inspiration to ask him if he knew how Superman got his power. He wasn’t sure so I said, “Superman is only super because he gets his power from the Earth’s yellow sun.” And then I said in the book of Malachi, there is a verse that declares, “But for you who revere My name, the Sun of righteousness will rise with healing in His wings. And you will go out and leap like calves released from the stall.” (Malachi 4:2) This healing blessing is promised to those who reverence the Lord, who believe in Jesus Christ, our Messiah and Redeemer, and are ready for His return. By the way, in Psalm 84:11 it is written that God is our sun and shield.

How cool is that! So, for everyone out there taking chemotherapy in their healing journey, chemo is not your Kryptonite. The power of one drop of Jesus’ Blood restores and renews your strength and re-energizes you. He is your Sun, your Strength, and your Shield from all the effects of chemo. Just call on His Name in prayer.

I continue to pray that the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in His wings for you in the Name of Jesus.
